Our Oceans, Our Lifeline
Oceans cover about 70% of the earth. They are a significant source of oxygen for our planet and are instrumental in the capture and storage of carbon dioxide. With more than 50% of all life on earth found in them, oceans also support an incredible variety of life.
In celebration of #WorldWildlifeDay, IUCN is raising awareness about the fundamental importance of tackling plastic pollution in order to protect our marine species and effectively strive towards sustainable development.
